Contemporary Art Space
Horus & Deloris Contemporary Art Space is a new Sydney gallery showcasing young, emerging Australian talent.
This commercial gallery will launch new exhibitions every month of painting, ceramics, mixed media, glass, jewellery, printmaking, photography and sound.
Nestled on the second floor of the Horus & Deloris building, a four-storey hub of creativity, design and inspiration in the Pyrmont precinct, the gallery injects new life into the Sydney art scene, providing a middle ground for emerging artists who want a professional space to exhibit.
“I want to provide support for talented young artists who don’t relate to the older established galleries” says curator Caroline Wales. “We have a thriving art culture in Sydney and genuinely talented artists who deserve recognition.”
Situated in a modern terrace, Horace & Deloris is run by twins Caroline and Nick Wales, who are inspired by what they love most – music and art.
Nick Wales builds on his long musical background by opening up the ground floor of Horus & Deloris as a rehearsal space for fellow musicians and his band mates from Sydney group Coda. The first floor of the building is a base for freelance designers and the third floor is a ceramics studio, run by Caroline, who has a BA in Fine Arts.
The creative extravaganza that is Horus & Deloris inspires and supports exciting collaborations across a diverse range of art forms and breathes life and vision into the Sydney art and music scenes.
