Jo and Jess have been a creative team for over five years. They met in London and lived in Brixton, which inspired their comic strip, “Slap n Tickle”. The autobiographical material draws upon the many madcap adventures and mishaps they’ve had, from that time onwards.
In 2002 the duo decided to return to Australia, having spent two years away and long hours working in Advertising, as a creative team. To reward their efforts they journeyed home via Central America and backpacked for three months.
Upon their return to Australia Jo and Jess resumed working for ad agencies in both Sydney and Melbourne. And all the while kept plugging away at their comic strip, which has evolved over time, hemispheres, drinking sessions, train trips, arguments, and having heaps of fun together.
Today “Slap n Tickle” is a regular feature in “Frankie” magazine. And it’s also on display at the opening exhibition of the new Horus and Deloris Art Gallery. Jo and Jess will be releasing the “Slap n Tickle” comic book in 2006 and will then turn the strip into an animation.
