Horus and Deloris Contemporary Art Space & Sydney Design Week 06

Opening Night: 6 – 8pm, August 5th, 2006

‘After the Winter’ at the Horus & Deloris gallery in Pyrmont from July 5 th to the 26th, featuring sculptures, oil paintings and photography.
Adam Laerkesen – creates his art through intuition. Within his artwork he portrays mystical and fantasy like objects, but leaves the viewers with an open-ended quality that allows your imagination to create your own story to his pieces. (You may recognize ‘Windchaser’ from a pervious exhibit called ‘Hemispheres’ at Tin Sheds.

Martin McEwen – oil paintingsare inspired from environments of urban and constructed landscapes. McEwen creates his paintings to resemble forms of realism, detachment and expression, resulting through the impact of thick oil paint and improvisation to give his viewers an immediate impression.

Wendy Shaw - travels throughout countries photographing people, culture and environmental surroundings. Her photographs are aimed to capture conditioned response, stereotypes and influences of her experiences. Her point of difference is to allow the viewer to be immersed in the angle of photography displayed on satin.

All are welcome, to join us for the opening night of ‘After the Winter’ on July 5 th from 6pm to 8pm.
